My Personal Views about Being a slave

slavery in general - i believe in ownership and being owned.   That said, i live in the real world and know that world does not recognize that relationship. Therefore, some "work arounds" may not seem consistent with slavery but are necessary in order to protect against the unthinkable.

24/7 (TPE) - i do not believe that TPE is possible for me without a live in arrangement.   i do not anticipate being a 24/7 slave with anyone immediately.   i think it is prudent to have a D/s contract for a time to test compatibility before making a commitment that i consider as serious as becoming a slave to anyone.

Name - it would be my strong preference to keep my given name for use in the Scene.   i have never lower cased it, due to my respect for the English language, although i generally refer to myself with a lower case "i" and to Dominants/Masters with an upper case pronoun.   i do not have a strong preference about keeping the upper case D in Scene related interactions.

Legal - i am still legally married, primarily because my family is very religious and they would not honor my wishes regarding ending my life if it had no quality.   My having someone who feels as i do about that issue as my legal next of kin gives me peace.   i learned that living wills are useless if the family disagrees.   Therefore, i would not be comfortable ending that legal bond without replacing it with another.

Finances - Absent a legally recognized relationship that protects in the event of my Master's death, i feel that it is vital that i maintain assets in my own name.   In a M/s relationship, i am comfortable turning over all income from those assets to be used as my Master sees fit.

Honorifics - i do not believe that anyone has the right to call a person "Master" unless they are that person's personal slave.   Using a scene name like "Master John" is acceptable because that is the person's chosen name.   It is vitally important to me that my Master agree with this concept and be willing to enforce it with those that call Him "Master" without a name attached.

Religion - i have spent a great deal of time exploring this subject and have come to the conclusion that organized religion does not have a place in my life.   Although i do not believe that order comes from chaos, i also do not believe that our creator is actively aware of us or directing our lives.   i do not believe that creator is necessarily what we would consider a "god".   i do not believe in the generally accepted versions of "heaven" or "hell" but do believe that energy does not cease to exist and that our essence will live on in some other form when this body ceases to function.

Monogamy - i do not believe that humans are inherently monogamous.   i believe monogamy is a construct created by society for a number of purposes.   i do not believe that sex must be associated with emotion.   i believe that my Master owns my body and can loan it to anyone He sees fit.   i enjoy these activities, whether or not i am attracted to the person involved because i see it as the strongest demonstration of ownership.

Honor - i believe that no M/s relationship can exist without a strong sense of honor on the part of both Master and slave.   Without society to enforce the relationship, it only exists because of our commitment to honor the promise we have made.   i agree with the statement that a slave's only decision is whether or not to stay in the M/s relationship but i also think that a slave should not feel she can just "walk away" unless some breach of the M/s agreement has occurred.   Yes, i do believe that M/s relationships are negotiated prior to the collar and that both parties must honor those agreements.   In that agreement, the Master acquires the authority to demand obedience.

Collars - i have worn "play collars" for bondage purposes or scenes, but the wearing of a collar is a deeply meaningful thing for me.   i believe that a slave collar should not be easily removable by its wearer.   i do not believe the slave should have access to the key.

A few years ago, i compiled some (edited) journal entries about slavery.   For those who might be interested, they are here
